We have exciting opportunities for Civil Engineering Graduates to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your engineering career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub‑contractor, labour, plant and material resources.
- Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes.
- Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor the progress of project works.
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place.
- Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project.
- Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance.
- Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed.
- Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.
- Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.
Who We're Looking For
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferrable skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferable.
- IT competent in Microsoft packages.
- Valid CSCS would be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Effective planning and organisation skills.
- A structured approach to problem solving.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematical and technical skills.
- Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations.
Other Requirements
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable).

- Hours of work are 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
