Role Overview
The Finance & HR Administrator plays a key role in supporting both financial operations and people administration across the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role ensures accurate financial records, smooth monthly reporting cycles, and efficient HR administration processes. This is a hands-on, operational position ideal for someone who enjoys working across finance, HR, and office administration, and who is eager to grow within a scaling media-tech company.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance Operations & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and process employee expense reports in line with company policy
- Compile and maintain monthly royalty reports for content partners and licensors
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and support financial close activities
- Assist the Finance Manager with cash flow forecasts, annual and quarterly budgets, and monthly management accounts
- Track financial performance against budgets and flag variances
- Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments accurately and on time
- Maintain up-to-date accounts payable records and liaise with suppliers as required
- Raise customer invoices, monitor receivables, and assist with credit control
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Prepare and support VAT submissions in line with HMRC requirements
- Assist with payroll administration, including timesheet collection, changes, and coordination with external payroll providers
- Maintain accurate financial records and support compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Support employee lifecycle administration, including offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation
- New starter setup and leaver processes
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and people data systems
- Support payroll inputs related to starters, leavers, salary changes, and benefits
- Assist with holiday tracking, sickness records, and basic people reporting
- Help ensure compliance with employment policies, data protection (GDPR), and internal HR procedures
- Coordinate with external HR advisors, payroll providers, and legal partners when required
- Oversee general office operations, including suppliers, facilities, and administrative needs
- Support onboarding logistics such as equipment, system access, and documentation
- Assist with internal documentation, policies, and process improvements
- Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Finance Manager and leadership team
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3+ years' experience in a finance, HR, or operations support role
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and financial processes
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, VAT, and payroll administration
- Exposure to HR administration or people operations is strongly preferred
- Experience with royalty reporting is a plus, but not required
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and finance systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
