About Scraye

Scraye is a startup building a fintech-enabled real estate rentals platform. Our mission is to make real estate accessible to all by building the simplest way to rent and buy in the UK and abroad. We're looking for people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to build a large, socially impactful technology business that redefines how real estate is transacted. If you are energetic, passionate, talented and want to make a difference, we would love to connect.

About the role

In the Business Development Executive (Real Estate) role, you’ll be involved in building and driving demand for the platform. Demand generation encompasses both digital and relationship-oriented initiatives designed to onboard and retain real estate agencies and agents to the platform in order for them to introduce tenants to transact on Scraye’s real estate portfolio. You will work directly with the supply and demand teams of Scraye. Each and every day is different at a startup so you’ll be learning and growing as you go along but you can have confidence in knowing that the support and knowledge of the entire team will always be at your disposal. We work as a team and we grow as a team.

What you’ll do

  • Build and develop a Business Development pipeline to onboard new agencies and agents to the platform
  • Create and execute digital initiatives to both onboard new users as well as create demand for targeted segments of our rentals marketplace
  • Work with our Supply Business Development team in order to produce immediate demand and value for new supply partnerships onboarded

Key traits

  • Hard working: we’ve developed a wonderful culture but are also conscious that as an ambitious startup, our team sometimes needs to go above and beyond to deliver on our targets. If having a strict, predictable 9am-6pm workday is important for you, this is not the right role. Our team comes to the office in Paddington 5 days a week.
  • Super talented: we aim to give our teammates responsibilities commensurate with their talent. The more you are comfortable with taking initiative and delivering on targets, the faster your responsibilities will grow.
  • Proactive with common sense: we get a lot done with a focused team. Being proactive and having common sense around prioritisation and what moves the needle is a key benefit in this role.
  • You enjoy creating and maintaining new relationships: to be successful in this role you need to genuinely enjoy connecting with new people in order to help them understand Scraye’s value proposition and ensure they experience value add from the very start. As part of this, perseverance in the face of a “no” is important.
  • Digitally savvy: Business Development on the demand side of the platform involves both human-to-human relationships as well as purely digital initiatives (e.g. email and digital campaigns). Proficiency on the digital side is key.
  • You enjoy a fast-paced environment: given our nature as a startup, each day is different and those who thrive are comfortable with the fast pace of the business.
  • Great to work with: we’ve focused on building a team which is not only talented but also great to work with. This means the team is respectful, collaborative and works as a coherent unit.
