About Us
We are the clear market leader in our sector and one of the fastest‑growing car‑buying companies in the world. In the UK we generate over 100,000 customer enquiries each month and facilitate the purchase of thousands of vehicles through our high‑traffic websites and nationwide operations. We have now launched across the United States, with multiple states already operational and an ambitious plan to expand nationwide. Our rapid expansion and success have been driven by outstanding people, a strong culture, and our ability to lean into the advantages of cutting‑edge technology. We have been established for over 15 years, are highly profitable, and have achieved this scale without external funding. That gives us both security and momentum – and yet, despite our size, we have kept the excitement, energy, and ambition of a startup. Our team is collaborative, ambitious, and relentlessly driven to be the best and most exciting place to work in our sector. Our target is bold: we are working towards a billion‑dollar valuation within the next five years. Along the way, we want our growth to make a positive difference to others. We have already donated over £1 million to various charities, and as we scale, so too will our donations.
The Role
Driving Strategy into Execution. This is a senior, high‑impact position for a fast‑thinking, results‑driven operator who loves turning ambitious goals into measurable progress. You will be responsible for creating alignment, focus, and accountability across every team in the business. Your core mandate is to work alongside our directors and all department heads to turn high‑level strategic direction into clear and measurable goals across the business. You will support the strategic process and contribute to discussions, but the majority of the main strategic decisions will continue to be made by the directors. Once those decisions are set, you will help shape the detail, communicate priorities, and collaborate with teams to ensure the goals are correct and aligned. You will design, implement and manage our company‑wide goal framework, ensure every department understands what we are trying to achieve and why, and maintain strong alignment across the organisation. You will lead quarterly planning cycles, run cross‑team review meetings, identify issues early, and help teams find fast and practical solutions, reducing the amount of follow‑up needed from the directors. This position suits someone who combines strategic clarity with hands‑on pace and energy. We move quickly and we need someone who does too, someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys problem solving, and can keep momentum high across the business. You will work closely with department heads across the UK and US, acting as the connective link between leadership and execution, driving collaboration, speed and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep Business Acumen & Rapid Integration: Quickly gain a core, in‑depth understanding of all aspects of the business, including operational flows, financial drivers, technology platforms, and departmental functions, to ensure the goal framework is practical and effective.
- Software Ownership: Identify, select, and oversee the implementation and integration of the optimal software platform for managing OKRs, ensuring seamless adoption and training across all teams.
- Design and own the company‑wide goal‑setting framework (OKRs or similar).
- Work with department heads to translate Director‑led company strategy into measurable objectives and key results, assisting in the communication and implementation of strategic decisions.
- Facilitate cross‑team planning and performance meetings to maintain alignment and focus, including running workshops to ensure cohesive team working and shared understanding.
- Monitor progress against goals, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions fast.
- Report concise, outcome‑focused updates to directors, providing solutions, not problems.
- Ensure communication between teams is clear, consistent, and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Lead major strategic and operational improvement projects across the business.
- Create a culture of accountability, urgency, and continual improvement, and be exceptional at securing cross‑functional buy‑in and collaboration.
- Provide coaching and structured feedback to department heads to support delivery and development.
- Drive the rhythm of the business – ensuring we plan, execute, and review effectively.
What We're Looking For
- 7‑12 years' experience in a senior strategy, operations, or execution‑focused role.
- Proven ability to design and manage OKR or performance frameworks company‑wide across multiple teams over at least a 5‑year period.
- Demonstrable experience in designing and running workshops to drive team cohesion, consensus, and successful execution of goals.
- Strong commercial understanding with the ability to connect goals to business outcomes.
- A people person with natural leadership presence and the ability to energise others.
- Highly proactive, hands‑on, and comfortable making quick, informed decisions.
- Experience working in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, or high‑growth companies (not slow‑moving corporations).
- Excellent communicator and facilitator, confident leading senior‑level discussions and alignment sessions.
- Analytical and detail‑oriented, yet able to think strategically and act decisively.
- Skilled at identifying problems early and solving them collaboratively.
- Strong sense of urgency and drive to keep projects and people moving forward.
