Scrap Car Comparison is looking for a Digital PR & Outreach Manager to help scale our brand through creative, SEO‑led digital PR campaigns.

About Us

We are the clear market leader in our sector and one of the fastest‑growing car buying companies in the world. In the UK we generate over 100,000 customer enquiries each month and book tens of thousands of vehicles through our high‑traffic websites and nationwide operations. We have now launched across the United States, with multiple states already live and an ambitious plan to expand nationwide. Our rapid expansion has been driven by outstanding people, a strong culture, and our ability to lean into cutting‑edge technology. We are not a speculative startup – we have been established for over 15 years, are highly profitable, and have achieved this scale without external funding. Our aim is bold: to build a billion‑dollar valuation within the next five years while making a positive difference to others. We have already donated over £1 million to charities. We offer a great base salary and long‑term equity opportunities for those who make an exceptional impact on our U.S. expansion.

The Role

This hands‑on role will involve researching and pitching stories, working closely with our in‑house content team to produce compelling campaigns, and directly reaching out to journalists, editors, and website owners to secure high‑quality coverage, backlinks, and affiliate placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop and pitch creative story ideas to secure coverage and backlinks in top automotive, consumer, and national publications.
  • Collaborate with our in‑house content team to plan and produce data‑led or newsworthy campaigns.
  • Proactively reach out to journalists, editors, and site owners to build lasting relationships and secure placements.
  • Achieve 3‑5 relevant editorials or high‑authority backlinks each month.
  • Track and report performance against SEO goals, including keyword rankings and organic traffic growth.
  • Support the growth of our affiliate programme by creating commission models and onboarding processes.
  • Build relationships with key affiliates and ensure proper tracking and reporting.
  • Where possible, combine editorial and affiliate opportunities for maximum reach.
  • Report monthly on outreach, backlink, and campaign performance.
  • Work closely with the SEO and content teams to align PR activity with broader growth targets.
  • Stay ahead of digital PR and SEO trends, testing new approaches and tools to boost performance.

What Success Looks Like

  • Secure 40‑50 high‑quality editorial placements and backlinks per year.
  • Deliver measurable SEO uplift – average +5 positions on key search terms and 10‑15% more organic traffic year‑on‑year.
  • Build a strong network of media and publishing contacts in the automotive and consumer sectors.
  • Launch or scale our affiliate partnerships, with 70% of partners actively driving traffic.
  • Land 5+ dual wins (coverage that also includes affiliate or partnership placements).

What We’re Looking For

  • 3‑5+ years’ experience in digital PR, SEO outreach, or link‑building campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of how digital PR drives organic growth and domain authority.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills – able to turn ideas and data into headlines that earn links.
  • Hands‑on outreach experience – confident pitching to journalists and editors directly.
  • Familiarity with media databases and SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, Semrush, BuzzStream, Gorkana).
  • Commercially minded, able to set and meet measurable performance targets.
  • Previous experience with affiliate or partnership marketing is beneficial but not essential.
  • Automotive or recycling sector knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, remote with quarterly visits to our offices.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive pension package.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing and employee support programme.
  • Access to discounted gym memberships and an on‑demand GP service.
  • Retail and leisure discounts across leading brands (Caffè Nero, Pizza Express, TK Maxx, Adidas, and more).
  • Opportunities for professional development and funded training.
  • Regular team meet‑ups and company events throughout the year.
  • Annual summer and Christmas celebrations.
  • Free food Fridays and fresh fruit available for staff working on site.
  • Free on‑site parking.
