We’re Hiring – Residential Support Workers (Children’s Services) Permanent Positions | No Sponsorship Available

Social Care Recruitment is seeking compassionate, resilient and dedicated Residential Support Workers to support children and young people aged 11–17 with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference and who are looking to progress their career in children’s residential care — including completing their Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification.

Shift Patterns

  • Day shifts: 8:00am – 8:00pm
  • Night shifts: 8:00pm – 8:00am
  • Minimum commitment: 3 shifts per week
  • Opportunities to pick up additional shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent emotional, practical and behavioural support
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and positive living environment
  • Promote independence through structured routines and life skills coaching
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support individuals with challenging behaviours, trauma and complex needs
  • Take part in in-house and community-based activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of a child-focused, supportive team
  • Adhere to safeguarding principles and Children’s Home Regulations (Ofsted)

What We’re Looking For

  • Full-time availability (essential)
  • Minimum of 3 shifts per week (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • At least 6 months’ UK social care experience (children only)
  • A proactive, resilient and confident approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (preferred – can be arranged)
  • Willingness to complete the Level 3 Residential Childcare course and all required training

Training & Progression

  • Excellent opportunity for candidates looking to complete their Level 3 Residential Course
  • Mandatory restraint training taking place on 17th & 18th – applicants must be available
  • Candidates who already hold current restraint training will have an advantage, as this allows for immediate shadow shifts
