We are looking for compassionate, reliable Residential Support Workers to join our team on an ad hoc basis, supporting vulnerable children and young people in residential settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to truly make a difference in young lives while working flexibly around your schedule.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with their day-to-day needs in the home, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment. You will work with individuals who may present challenging behaviours, including those with Autism, ADHD and Global Developmental Disorder.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily routines, including cooking, cleaning and personal care
- Promote a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviours calmly and professionally
- Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships
- Set clear boundaries, expectations and structured timetables
- Support mental and physical wellbeing through meaningful and engaging activities
- Work collaboratively with social care and healthcare professionals
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all young people at all times
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
- Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Residential childcare
- Family assessment work
- Youth work
- SEN support
