We are looking for caring, resilient and motivated individuals to join our client supporting children and young people within a residential setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives by providing emotional support, encouragement, and stability.

Shift Patterns

  • Day Shifts: 7:00am – 11:00pm
  • Night Shifts: 9:30pm – 9:30am
  • Sleep-ins X1 every week required

The company also manages a school which is located close to the residential home and all children attend the school. The school caters for both primary and secondary aged children between 8–18 years old.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with children and young people
  • Maintain a high level of resilience and professionalism
  • Support young people to experience emotional security, happiness and personal growth
  • Participate in planning and engaging young people in recreational and social activities
  • Act as a positive role model and provide consistent support
  • Complete daily reports and documentation accurately
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings

Waking Night Staff

We are also recruiting Waking Night Staff to provide overnight support and ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a clear handover to day staff
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people overnight
  • Carry out cleaning duties while young people are asleep
  • Document and track the progress and development of young people in your care
  • Support calm and positive bedtime routines
  • Follow individual health plans, including support strategies for young people with enuresis where required
  • Conduct regular walkthrough checks of the home throughout the night

Requirements

  • A willingness to complete the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Full UK driving licence (applicants will be asked about any points on their licence)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including long days, weekends and sleep-in duties where required
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in residential care or working with children
  • Applicants must be 21 years old or over
  • Clear enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
