We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a therapeutic young people’s home supporting vulnerable children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Building positive relationships and engaging with young people daily
- Supporting children from traumatic backgrounds with patience and consistency
- Learning young people’s routines, interests, likes, and dislikes through care plans
- Supporting educational goals and personal development
- Helping with day-to-day living tasks
- Guiding and supporting behaviour management
- Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional stability of young people
- Working closely with social workers, therapists, and the wider care team
Shift Pattern
- 9am – 11pm + sleep-in
- 7am – 9:30am the following day
- Staff work 7 x 24-hour shifts (including sleep-ins) across a 3-week rota
Requirements
- Must be aged 21+
- Full UK driving licence required
- Minimum 6 months experience within:
- Residential childcare
- Schools
- Youth work
- Supported accommodation
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
Training & Progression
- Level 4 Residential Childcare qualification
- Level 3 offered where UK residency requirements apply
- PRICE restraint training
- Developmental Trauma training
- Therapeutic Parenting training
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Teams meeting with the Registered Manager of the home as part of the recruitment process.
