We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join a children’s residential home supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing environment. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the management team with the day-to-day running of the home, providing guidance to support staff and ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in their career within children’s residential care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management team in the day-to-day operation of the children’s residential home
  • Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to residential staff
  • Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and regularly reviewed
  • Support young people with their emotional, social and developmental needs
  • Promote a safe, stable and nurturing environment for young people
  • Work closely with social workers, families and other professionals
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures and Ofsted regulations are adhered to
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory requirements
  • Support staff development through mentoring and role modelling best practice

Requirements

  • Experience working within children’s residential care
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
  • Working towards or willing to complete Level 4/5 in Leadership and Management
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential
