We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership and daily operations across two children’s residential homes. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people. As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting both homes operationally, leading staff teams, maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring each young person receives high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of two children’s residential homes
- Assist in delivering high-quality care and support for young people
- Lead, mentor and support staff teams, ensuring policies, procedures and best practice are followed
- Work closely with families, social workers and external professionals to provide holistic care for each child
- Ensure Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards and health & safety requirements are consistently met
- Support with staff rotas, supervision, training and performance management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation
- Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment that encourages independence, personal development and life skills
- Proven experience working in children’s residential care
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) or higher
- Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
