Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive in a safe, structured and nurturing environment? We are currently recruiting for Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a well-established provider. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a residential children’s home located on the same site as the young people’s school, allowing you to support their development both in education and in the home.

About the Role

You will be supporting children aged 6–16 who have experienced trauma and may present with behavioural needs including ADHD, autism and other additional needs. The home provides a structured and therapeutic environment designed to help them build confidence, resilience and independence. A key part of the role involves supporting young people within their on-site primary and secondary school, where you will provide 1:1 support during lessons, helping them engage in learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day care and support for young people in the home
  • Offer 1:1 educational support by attending school with the allocated young person
  • Assist with homework and encourage engagement in learning
  • Support with daily routines, including school preparation and school runs
  • Carry out household tasks such as laundry and general chores
  • Follow individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Promote a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for all young people

Shift Pattern

  • Day shifts: 7:30am – 10:30pm (with sleep-ins available)
  • Split shifts available:
  • 7:30am – 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm – 10:30pm
  • 3–4 shifts per week, depending on rota requirements
  • Sleep-ins paid at £40 per shift

    Requirements

    • Experience working with young people (residential care, SEN, youth work or prison services backgrounds welcome)
