We are currently recruiting for compassionate and reliable Residential Support Workers to join a therapeutic children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children within a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment.

About the Home

  • Therapeutic EBD service
  • Currently supporting 3 young people aged 7, 7 and 10
  • All children attend school
  • The home promotes a warm, homely atmosphere where young people feel safe and supported
  • Staff encourage and maintain positive family relationships where appropriate

Shift Patterns

  • Flexible mixed shifts available
  • Mainly long days and waking nights at weekends: 8am - 8pm, 8pm - 8am
  • Additional support required before and after school for a couple of hours during weekdays

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting young people with daily routines and activities
  • Taking part in fun and engaging weekend activities
  • Building positive, therapeutic relationships with children
  • Using de-escalation techniques to support behaviours in a calm and compassionate way
  • Maintaining a safe and structured environment at all times
  • Reading and understanding care plans, including awareness of individual triggers and support strategies
  • Using non-judgemental and therapeutic communication approaches

Important Information

  • Staffing ratio is always 2:1, no lone working
  • Staff must remain vigilant at all times:
    • Keys must be kept secure
    • Doors must remain locked appropriately
    • No unsafe items should be left accessible
