About the Role
We're looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a therapeutic children's residential service supporting young people aged 11 - 17 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You'll play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can develop emotionally, socially and independently. Every day is different and you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person's life by building trusting relationships and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
Shift Patterns:
- Day Shift: 8:00am - 9:00pm
- Waking Night: 9:00pm - 8:00am
- Sleep-in shifts available at selected homes
- Flexible working across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
Your Responsibilities:
- Supporting young people with their daily routines, including prompting and encouraging personal care, dressing and hygiene while promoting independence.
- Encouraging participation in education, activities and life skills development.
- Helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Developing trusting and professional relationships with young people including acting as a positive role model.
- Providing emotional support, reassurance and encouragement.
- Planning and participating in activities based on the young person's interests.
Behaviour Support
- Managing behaviours that may challenge using a calm, therapeutic and trauma-informed approach.
- Following Behaviour Support Plans, Risk Assessments and Individual Care Plans.
- Using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations safely.
- Maintaining consistent boundaries and routines to promote emotional security.
- Maintaining high standards of documentation to support safeguarding and care planning.

Requirements for the role:
- Must be over the age of 22 due to regulations within the home.
- Have a full UK driver's licence.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in a residential children's home or youth worker.
- Willing to obtain the level 3 residential qualification if you don't already have it.
- Have no restrictions to work full time.
