We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join a supportive and well-established family-run organisation providing care for young people within therapeutic EBD residential homes in the Basildon area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a long-term career within children's residential care, with full training and progression opportunities available.

About the Homes

  • Based across 3 children's residential homes within close proximity of each other in Basildon
  • Young people are typically aged 14-17, although placements can be accepted from age 11+
  • Services support young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

Shift Patterns

  • Candidates must be flexible to work both day and night shifts:
    • Day shifts: 8am - 8pm
    • Night shifts: 8pm - 8am
  • The service will always try to accommodate staff preferences where possible, however flexibility is essential.
  • Expected commitment of 3-4 shifts per week

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting young people with daily routines and emotional wellbeing
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Helping create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment
  • Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Working closely with colleagues to manage behaviours positively and therapeutically

Staffing & Support

  • Staffing ratio is always 2:1
  • No lone working
  • Strong management support within all homes

Training & Development

  • The company invests heavily in staff development and progression.
  • Restraint Training - If training is not already held, the company will fully fund and enrol staff onto accredited restraint training. Please note: if a staff member leaves before moving into a permanent role, training costs may need to be repaid.

Qualifications & Career Progression

  • Once permanent, staff are enrolled onto the Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification, opening progression opportunities within the company.
