We are conducting a confidential search for a Renewable Energy Programme Director to lead delivery of a portfolio of offshore wind and grid infrastructure programmes for an energy organisation based in Edinburgh, working hybrid. Scotland's ScotWind pipeline has made Edinburgh a hub for offshore renewables development, and this is a director-level role for a programme leader who can take projects from consent through construction.
In this role, you will own programme governance across multiple concurrent offshore wind and grid connection projects, manage relationships with Crown Estate Scotland, marine licensing authorities, and Ofgem on consenting and connection agreements, and oversee EPC contractor selection, negotiation, and performance management. You will lead risk management across construction, supply chain, and planning consent workstreams, and manage programme budgets and schedules against final investment decision commitments.
You will build and lead a team of project managers and technical leads, coordinate community and stakeholder engagement across coastal and grid-affected communities, and represent the programme to investors, joint venture partners, and regulators. You will also drive supply chain localisation strategy and contribute to the organisation's broader net-zero delivery roadmap.
Nice to Have:
Experience with ScotWind or Celtic Sea offshore wind consenting processes
Background in marine licensing and environmental impact assessment
Track record managing EPC contracts on large infrastructure programmes
Experience with grid connection agreements and Ofgem processes
Chartered status (APM, ICE, or equivalent)
