About the role

As a New Business Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth delivery of credit‑approved deals through to drawdown. Working closely with Lending Managers, Underwriters, solicitors, valuers, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that each transaction progresses efficiently, maintaining momentum and service quality across the completion pipeline. This role demands strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to issue resolution and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day progression of deals from credit approval through to drawdown.
  • Complete credit searches and accurately input loan data.
  • Support the testing, development, and enhancement of internal systems.
  • Liaise with Lending Managers, Underwriters, solicitors, and valuers to ensure timely completion of transactions.
  • Conduct and oversee KYC and AML checks, ensuring all onboarding activity is fully compliant prior to drawdown.
  • Use internal systems to track deal progression, maintain records, and support management information reporting.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, identifying and escalating issues or delays as needed.
  • Assist the Team Lead in driving performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Support project work by providing operational insight and executing assigned tasks.
  • Ensure all activity complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Deliver excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all risk‑related responsibilities outlined in the organisation’s Risk Management Policy.
  • Comply with all financial crime and regulatory obligations applicable to the role, including associated policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 2‑5 years’ experience in financial services, ideally in lending operations or completions, with a preference for bridging lending.
  • Strong understanding of lending products and onboarding processes.
  • Performance‑driven, with a strong focus on execution and service delivery.
  • Experience working with third‑party suppliers such as solicitors and valuers.
  • Working knowledge of KYC and AML processes within a lending environment.
  • Comfortable using operational systems and tools to support efficient deal management.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience using nCino or similar systems to manage deal progression and maintain records (beneficial).
