About the Role

Panda Waste is a leading waste management provider dedicated to driving sustainability forward. We are currently hiring an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our Birmingham team.

The Role

Based at our Birmingham depot, you will be responsible for the collection and transportation of commercial waste using our modern fleet. This is a vital role in ensuring our customers receive a reliable service while we maintain our commitment to environmental best practices.

Working Hours

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rotational basis.
  • Start Time: 4-5 (AM) daily.

  • Weekly salary with paid breaks included.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely drive and operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for commercial waste collection.
  • Service Delivery: Complete efficient collection routes and ensure customer sites are left tidy.
  • Data Management: Weigh bins and accurately record collection data using an on-board tablet.
  • Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any incidents or defects promptly.
  • Compliance: Strictly adhere to waste management regulations, drivers’ hours, and the Working Time Directive.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence with current Driver CPC.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • Physical Fitness: The role involves manual handling of waste containers.
  • Customer Focus: Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional Saturdays as required.
