We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Second Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing a diverse range of menu items with precision and creativity.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food production.
- Oversee food preparation activities, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations.
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage waste control to optimise resources.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
- Support the implementation of new recipes, techniques, and menu updates as directed by the Head Chef.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
