Help us create a better future, quicker
We’re looking for a dynamic leader to lead our Security Operations Centre (SOC), overseeing its strategic direction, daily operations, and a talented team of cyber security professionals. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping and executing our cyber security strategy, ensuring the delivery of resilient IT and OT systems that support a safe and reliable electricity supply for our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a global cyber security function, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team that has responsibility for focussing on threat intelligence, identity and access management, incident response, and threat detection. You’ll be instrumental in driving our ambitious security transformation programme, which is focused on reducing risk, achieving compliance with NIS regulations, and building a cyber-resilient business.
This is a hands-on leadership role with broad accountability—from managing incidents and ensuring policy compliance, to refining operational frameworks and integrating cutting-edge security platforms. You’ll collaborate across international teams within the Iberdrola Group and work closely with external partners to deliver strategic security solutions.
What You’ll Bring
We’re seeking someone with deep technical expertise in cyber security operations, ideally with experience in both IT and OT environments.
Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, the PURDUE model, and platforms like SIEM/SOAR and XDR will be highly beneficial.
Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to navigate complex challenges, build global relationships, and drive strategic outcomes. You’ll be expected to plan and manage a 12-month delivery roadmap, oversee audit schedules, and support regulatory compliance efforts.
This role reports to the Security Operations Manager and may involve occasional travel to Spain and other company locations. Recognised qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or IEC 62443 are desirable.
What’s In It For You
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
Benefits
- 36 days annual leave
- Holiday purchase – perfect your work/life balance with extra annual leave
- Share Incentive Plan and Sharesave Scheme
- Payroll giving and charity matched funding
- Technology Vouchers – save more and spread the cost of your technology purposes
- Count us in – pledge to reduce carbon emissions and help fight climate change
- Electric Vehicle Schemes – to help you transition to green/clean driving
- Cycle to Work scheme and public transport season ticket loans
- Options to purchase dental insurance, private medical insurance, health cash plan and annual health assessments
- Life Assurance (4x salary)
- Access to ‘nudge’ financial wellbeing support
- Plus shopping, leisure, restaurant and gym discounts, and unique employee deals on travel insurance and more
