Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Our work keeps Scotland’s water flowing, from reservoir to tap – and from sewer to treatment plant. We are looking for Metering Technicians to join our Customer Excellence and Resilience Team in the following locations:

  • Stirling to Perth
  • Glasgow to Forth Valley
  • East Lothian (Edinburgh towards the Borders)
  • West Lothian (Edinburgh towards Bathgate)
  • Dumfries to Castle Douglas

In this role, you will spend much of your time working independently on-site. You should be self-motivated and eager to contribute to team goals. You will be part of a skilled team managing proactive and reactive wholesale activities across Scotland. Your primary responsibility is resolving customer issues, investigating problems, developing solutions, and keeping all parties updated.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct routine repairs and maintenance on metering assets, prioritizing health and safety, including risk assessments and audits on Alliance Partners.
  • Complete DOMS Impact Assessment Forms as required.
  • Perform surveys to understand customer supply arrangements for water and wastewater, including complex sites and dye testing.
  • Plumbing skills for meter installation, exchanges, and disconnections will be advantageous.
  • Accurate reporting from your site visits is essential to provide License Providers with necessary information.
  • Meeting targets by effectively handling metering tasks is crucial.

What you’ll need:

  • Excellent customer service skills, preferably with plumbing knowledge.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations such as the Sewerage Scotland Act, Water Scotland Act, and Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Strong IT skills and clear communication, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and apps, report writing skills, and flexibility to work across various locations.
  • Knowledge of DOMS policies, Hygiene Code of Practice, Streetworks (NRSWA), and a valid UK driver’s license.
  • Nice-to-haves include experience with Salesforce/Youreka, GIS/Geofield/Field Maps, and Microsoft Office suite.
