Senior Quantity Surveyor in Dundee

Senior Quantity Surveyor in Dundee

Dundee Full-Time No working from home possible
S

It's not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it's what's behind every job here. Our work keeps Scotland's water flowing, from reservoir to tap - and from sewer to treatment plant.

Do your bit by joining our project delivery commercial team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with the project delivery team and report to the Commercial Team Manager.

What you'll do

You’ll be the go-to person when it comes to contractual and commercial matters on your projects.

You will make sure all our contract documents are in order, following best practices and Scottish Water procedures and you’ll stay on top of contract administration through its life-cycle, from change management and payments to final account.

You’ll keep an eye on costs, checking supplier quotations, tracking budgets and making sure your project spend forecasts are on point.

Building strong relationships with our project teams, both inside and outside the company is vital. We’re all about teamwork!

Lastly, you will help support the development of your team members, sharing your knowledge and experience. Great communication with colleagues and leaders is key in this role!

What you’ll bring

You have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, and you might have even climbed the ladder a bit in construction, infrastructure, private practice, or contracting.

You’ve got a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Project Management or similar.

You’ve got the experience to back you up, especially in managing projects with contract forms like NEC. You’re no stranger to contract administration.

Numbers are your thing, and you’ve got excellent skills in managing information and communication.

You are IT literate on Microsoft programmes, and you are comfortable when it comes to contract management, costing, and reporting systems.

Looking out for you

While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.

You’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy up to five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take time off to volunteer in your community.

When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.

For your future, there’s our pension (the know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), and life assurance.

As for some nice extras? You will participate in a company bonus scheme. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

The not-so-small print

This role will be a Grade 7. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a salary between £45,699 - £56,669, depending on your skills and experience. Performance-driven pay progression will then allow you to move through the range to the maximum salary.

If you’re interested in this role - or know someone else who might be - we’ll be accepting applications until midnight on 14th September 2026.

We operate Balanced Hybrid working at Scottish Water and we encourage people to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.

Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. Screening is conducted on our behalf by a third party, and must be completed before your start date. Don’t worry – we’ll only start these checks once you’ve accepted an offer
