Our varied business engagements include developer projects, development centres, low carbon energy projects, low carbon heat projects, and waste management.
What you’ll do:
- You’ll be the financial backbone, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and forecasting.
- Your analytical prowess will shine as you produce crucial commercial and contractual information, ensuring strict compliance with programme constraints.
- You’ll manage and mitigate risks, providing unwavering support to both Commercial and Project Management Teams.
- You’ll implement strategic commercial procedures and policies, fostering strong relationships with project delivery teams, internal partners, and the supply chain.
- You’ll meticulously prepare contract documents, ensuring they align with SW and SWH procedures before project commencement.
- You’ll champion a robust change control process, ensuring value recovery from client contracts and maintaining awareness of the SW Plan, Prepare, and Deliver process.
- You’ll administer commercial and contractual aspects, including change control, monthly applications, and accruals.
- You’ll review and challenge project tender documents, identifying risks with precision.
What you’ll need:
- A wealth of experience in project management, particularly with standard construction contract forms like NEC4.
- A background as a Quantity Surveyor or in a more senior role within construction or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in numeracy and information management, complemented by effective communication skills.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management, along with an RICS/CICES qualification (or working towards one).
- Strong commercial and contracting awareness gained from experience on both contractor and client-side projects.
- Effective time management aligned with business and customer-focused awareness.
- IT literacy, especially in Microsoft programs and various management/costing/reporting systems.

- This role will be located at our main Scottish Water Horizons head office at Scottish Water The Bridge in Stepps, involving a mixture of home, office, and on-site working.
- The salary range for this role is £45,699 - £51,184, depending on skills and experience, and up to £56,669 for exceptional candidates.
- Job offers are conditional and will be confirmed on completion of pre-employment screening.
- A valid UK driving licence is required for driving on Scottish Water business.
- Candidates may be subject to Drug & Alcohol testing in line with our policy.
- All employees must be Scottish taxpayers.
