Business Analyst - Revenue (Fixed term / Secondment until May 2026)

We\'re looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our Customer Revenue Billing Team—a team at the heart of transforming how we deliver innovative, user‑focused billing solutions. In this role you’ll help drive enhancements to our systems, particularly through hands‑on engagement with cloud updates in our CCS platform. Your knowledge of finance, data, and process improvement will directly impact how our systems serve the business and our people.
Responsibilities
- Support User Acceptance Testing for cloud updates: define test criteria, create test cases, coordinate sessions, document issues and ensure a smooth deployment.
- Conduct ledger reconciliations and billing checks to maintain accuracy and integrity in CCS processes; investigate discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate business processes: analyse workflows, design technical and procedural enhancements, and deliver solutions aligned with strategic goals.
- Act as a link between business teams, IT and project leads to ensure requirements are clearly documented and understood.
- Explain complex concepts to different audiences, support training and user guidance.
- Monitor progress of UAT, track results and risks, and follow up on the impact of improvements post‑implementation.
- Maintain quality assurance to deliver consistent value across developments.
Qualifications
- Solid financial acumen, accounting practices, reconciliations and controls.
- Confidence working with data and advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and Power Automate preferred.
- Analytical mindset to break down problems, pinpoint root causes and communicate solutions clearly.
- Highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
- Collaborative, inquisitive and keen to keep learning.
- Excellent communication skills, a sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership.
Contract & Working Conditions
This role is a Fixed term / Secondment until May 2026, Grade 6. Starting salary is £33,560 with performance‑driven progression to £44,140. We operate a Balanced Hybrid working model and encourage staff to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.
