About the role
We are pleased to be able to offer permanent Solicitor roles within the Fitness to Practise department of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Temporary positions for 12 months are also available. In this role you will be part of the team that ensures that the right people work with some of the most vulnerable in society in the areas of social work, social care and children and young people services. Your work will include investigating a wide variety of concerns raised about social service workers, providing legal advice on the course of action the SSSC should take and presenting cases at panel hearings.

Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and act.

All staff are required to attend the office at times, for example for meetings, training, staff events. During the initial induction period, we will ask you to come to the office two days a week.
