About the role

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking to recruit a Finance Officer on a temporary basis until 30 April 2028. The postholder will work in a busy team and be responsible for:

  • helping in the monthly budget monitoring process by compiling information and holding meetings with your own budget holders
  • helping compile the SSSC annual budgets
  • helping in the production of the SSSC statutory annual accounts
  • carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • compiling information for financial or statistical returns
  • helping train and develop finance and non-finance staff

What you need to succeed

  • holds a relevant HNC or equivalent Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification or degree or have significant experience
  • can demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
  • has organisational skills that help you to prioritise and manage your own workload
  • can be a strong communicator and be able to demonstrate your commitment to excellent customer service
  • can work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision
  • is able to work flexibly as part of a team
