About the role
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking to recruit a Finance Officer on a temporary basis until 30 April 2028. The postholder will work in a busy team and be responsible for:
- Helping in the monthly budget monitoring process by compiling information and holding meetings with your own budget holders
- Helping compile the SSSC annual budgets
- Helping in the production of the SSSC statutory annual accounts
- Carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Compiling information for financial or statistical returns
- Helping train and develop finance and non-finance staff
What you need to succeed
- Holds a relevant HNC or equivalent Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification or degree or have significant experience
- Can demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
- Has organisational skills that help you to prioritise and manage your own workload
- Can be a strong communicator and be able to demonstrate your commitment to excellent customer service
- Can work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision
- Is able to work flexibly as part of a team
