About the role
Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Department. We are looking to recruit to the role of Finance Officer on a temporary basis until 30 April 2028. Working in a busy team the postholder will:
- help in the monthly budget monitoring process by compiling information and holding meetings with your own budget holders
- help compile the SSSC annual budgets
- help in the production of the SSSC statutory annual accounts
- carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- compile information for financial or statistical returns
- help train and develop finance and non-finance staff
What you need to succeed
We are looking for someone who:
- holds a relevant HNC or equivalent Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification or degree or has significant experience
- can demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
- has organisational skills that help you to prioritise and manage your own workload
- can be a strong communicator and be able to demonstrate your commitment to excellent customer service
- can work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision
- is able to work flexibly as part of a team
The starting salary for this post will be at the minimum point of the advertised pay scale.
