The Vacancy

Are you a student with a passion for sport, storytelling and social media?

We are looking for two creative and reliable Content Creators to help bring the Arnold Clark Premiership and Youth and Open rugby competitions to life on our social channels during the 2026/27 season.

These paid, part‑time opportunities are ideal for students studying marketing, media, sport, communications and who are looking for practical experience creating live sports content for an external audience.

You will support social media coverage across competition weekends, capturing the energy of fixtures, festivals and key events while helping rugby feel visible, engaging and active online.

What you’ll do

  • Create engaging social media content from either the Arnold Clark Premiership or the Youth and Open competitions, including short‑form video, photos, stories and matchday updates.
  • Attend selected fixtures, festivals and events across the season to capture live content.
  • Follow a small number of players, teams, volunteers or match officials across the season to build authentic storylines.
  • Edit and prepare content using a phone and simple editing tools.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to plan, schedule and publish content.
  • Help maintain a consistent and lively social media presence across competition weekends.

What we’re looking for

  • A current student studying marketing, media, sport, communications or a similar subject.
  • A strong interest in sport, live events and community storytelling.
  • Confidence in filming and editing content using a phone and simple tools.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms, trends and what makes content engaging.
  • Reliability, organisation and the ability to commit to weekend coverage during the season.

What you’ll gain

  • Hands‑on experience creating content across rugby competitions.
  • A strong portfolio of live sports content, including matchday coverage and community storytelling.
  • Real responsibility for planning, capturing, editing and publishing social media content.
  • The opportunity to work alongside a national Marketing and Communications team.

What to expect

  • It’s essential that you’ll be able to work at weekends, the hours will fit around university or college studies. This is particularly essential during competition weekends.
  • There will be some weekday support required for planning, editing and posting.
  • This is a paid, part‑time opportunity running throughout the 2026/27 season.
  • You’ll be paid for the hours you work.
  • You’ll receive travel expenses for approved fixtures and events across Scotland.
  • The role combines selected in‑person match‑day attendance with remote planning, editing and publishing.

Interviews for this role are planned for 22nd July. We’re hoping successful applicants to be ready to start at the beginning of the rugby season in August.

Scottish Rugby is an equal opportunities employer and we encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
