Edinburgh Rugby are looking for an exceptional Athletic Performance Coach to take a senior operational role at the heart of our player development programme. This position will lead return-to-play coordination for injured players while designing and delivering high-quality, position-specific physical programmes. You will drive evidence-informed solutions that keep our players performing at their best.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead criteria-based RTP progressions across strength, speed, contact and skill while managing each injured player's weekly schedule in close partnership with colleagues.
  • Lead pre-season and in-season player profiling programmes, translating findings into targeted individual and group interventions.
  • Physical programming for an assigned positional group, integrating strength, speed, conditioning and recovery within the demands of the rugby calendar and each player's individual development pathway.
  • Collaborating across Athletic Performance, Medical, Coaching, and Nutrition, contributing to a culture built on accountability, collaboration and continual improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Human Performance or a related field is essential.
  • Experience in professional rugby athletic performance, with a thorough understanding of the physical, technical, tactical and psychological demands of the elite game.
  • Expertise in player monitoring and data-driven practice and the ability to translate data into meaningful, individualised interventions.
  • A natural collaborator who can build trust with coaches, medics, nutritionists and players, operating with confidence and clarity in a multi-layered, high-performance environment.
