CONTRACTOR - Women's Physiotherapist - Non Scotland Based Players
This is a Temporary , Part Time vacancy.
The Vacancy
This specialist liaison role oversees the care and tracking of Scottish-qualified female players across at least five PWR clubs in England. Acting as the on-the-ground link to the Scotland Women’s Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, the role aligns players’ diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation with national team expectations while building trusted relationships with club medical teams.
What you will be doing:
- Clinical oversight: Monitor and review player diagnoses, treatment plans, injury status and long-term rehabilitation remotely.
- Rehabilitation assessment: Conduct periodic club visits and in-person evaluations to assess rehabilitation progress and on-field loading.
- National-team alignment: Collaborate with clubs to ensure rehabilitation follows Scottish Rugby Return to Play standards and international performance benchmarks.
- Player care and reporting: Provide professional, supportive contact for players, maintain accurate central medical records and deliver weekly clinical updates.
- Stakeholder liaison: Build trusted relationships with PWR medical teams, coordinate the exchange of medical information and balance club and national-team priorities.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree-qualified Physiotherapist with current HCPC registration, CSP membership, and appropriate indemnity insurance.
- SCRUMCAPS/PHICIS Level 3 certification or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in women’s rugby or other high-performance team sports, including complex injury management and remote rehabilitation.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills to evaluate diagnoses, rehabilitation progress, and third-party club reports.
- Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel independently across England, and flexibility to work one day per week around club training and match schedules during the 29-week season.
