We are recruiting for Senior Forensic Scene Examiners in the West of Scotland, with current vacancies available in our Kilmarnock, Maryhill and Paisley offices. Please note, we foresee further future vacancies arising at our remaining offices in Dumfries, Stirling, Govan and Scottish Crime Campus locations. Please note your preferred locations in the preference form at the end of your application. Any successful reserve candidates will be held on file for 12 months to address any future vacancies at these locations.

Ideally, we are looking for applicants who are qualified Forensic Scene Examiners, with Crime Scene Investigation experience. Bespoke training can be provided to upskill those with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake examinations at all scene incidents, to locate, develop, preserve, record and gather forensic evidence for use by internal and external customers, in the support of the criminal justice system.
  • To advise the customer at the scene or at forensic strategy meetings and to prepare reports/statements for external customers.
  • To carry out recovery of evidence, examinations, test and processes to clearly defined standards (ISO 17025) within the laboratory as instructed.

We will conduct the interviews for the Kilmarnock, Maryhill and Paisley posts together. Please note, these posts are not Hybrid working and you will be on a shift pattern covering evenings and weekends while also taking part in an on-call rota. A driving licence is essential for this role due to the travel required.

The shift patterns will be as follows:

  • Paisley - Shift Pattern Team 4
  • Kilmarnock - Shift Pattern Team 2
  • Maryhill - Shift Pattern Team 3
