The Scottish Police Authority are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for someone to join their Modern Apprenticeship Programme based at Dalmarnock in Glasgow. This is a unique opportunity to join a busy public body in a corporate support role, gaining hands-on experience, developing new skills, and working closely with a dedicated team of professionals. You’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Authority while learning and developing your career in the corporate environment.
This two-year programme builds on whatever educational qualifications you have whilst at the same time giving an in-depth exposure to world of work.
Working with teams ranging from Finance to Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Services, you will be supported by dedicated workplace mentors whilst studying toward a formal Business Administration qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Authority’s staff and Board members.
- Support the team with general office tasks, ensuring smooth office operations.
- Assist in booking travel, accommodation, organising meetings.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence from staff and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update filing systems, both digitally and physically.
- Assist with internal communication and coordination across departments.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications
- A keen interest in developing a career in a corporate environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is desirable.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
- Previous office experience is a bonus, but not essential.
This is a full-time position working a 35 hour week adapted to a hybrid approach. i.e. a mix of dedicated time in the office and remote working from home, and along with a generous 28 days of annual leave and 6 public holidays, there is an attractive employee benefits package, designed to support your wellbeing.
