Key responsibilities of the role include:
- This role is laboratory-based and is required to carry out a case assessment and provide instruction to relevant Forensic Services scientific staff.
- To carry out scientific interpretation of observations of test results; apply judgement and experience to determine the value of the evidence and report the outcomes internally or externally.
- This role attends at serious incidents, when required, to provide expert advice and guidance, carrying out scene examination, analysis and interpretation to maximise recovery of evidence and assist with criminal investigation.
- The role addresses activity in a case and fully interprets in the context of a case and reports the outcome internally or externally.
