Tod & Mitchell Solicitors are delighted to advertise for a Trainee Solicitor with a keen interest in the criminal law. We are a firm of solicitors based in Paisley, specialising in criminal legal aid cases, privately funded criminal cases, and parole hearings.

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of and an interest in the criminal law;
  • Advocacy skills and an interest in developing those further;
  • An ability to work under pressure, and to organise and manage his or her own workload in a flexible and effective manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • An ability to navigate IT systems, including the firm’s internal system;
  • A willingness and ability to gain new skills and grasp new topics quickly;
  • Good communication skills, particularly with vulnerable and disadvantaged clients.

There are good prospects for future advancement for the right candidate. The position will be based at 4 High Street, Paisley, PA1 2YA; with the salary meeting the Law Society recommended rates. There is a need for the successful candidate to have a full UK driving licence and to have access to his or her own vehicle.
