About The Role

Be the expert clients rely on. As the data protection landscape continues to evolve, clients are increasingly looking for expert, practical guidance they can trust. In this role, you’ll be a valued member of our specialist team at a respected Scottish law firm known for its pragmatic, commercially focused approach. Based in Glasgow, you’ll work with a diverse portfolio of clients—building trusted relationships, advising at a strategic level, and delivering advice that makes a real impact.

  • Data Protection Compliance – Advise clients on requirements to comply with applicable UK Data Protection Laws including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Policy and Contract Drafting – Prepare and review data protection policies, privacy notices, data processing and data sharing agreements, DPIAs and advise on data protection clauses within commercial contracts.
  • Incident and Breach Management – Support clients with data breach investigations, regulatory reporting obligations, and engagement with the ICO where required.
  • Data Subject Requests – Assist clients with meeting obligations to comply with requests including the right to access, erase and rectify personal data.
  • Freedom of Information & Confidentiality – Provide guidance on requests made under Freedom of Information law.
  • Client Training and Support – Deliver engaging training sessions and provide day-to-day advice on data protection best practice.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across departments to deliver integrated, commercially focused legal solutions.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified as a Solicitor in Scotland, with up to 3 years post-qualified experience.
  • A genuine interest in data protection, privacy, and information law.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial, solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A calm, pragmatic approach and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • A collaborative mindset – you’ll thrive in a firm where legal, technical, and commercial expertise come together to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
