Strong organisations don’t just manage people processes – they create environments where managers feel confident to lead, colleagues feel supported, and decisions are fair, consistent, and grounded in both values and legislation. By embedding practical, people‑focused HR support into everyday operations, they strengthen engagement, improve performance, and build cultures where people can thrive.

As an HR Advisor, you’ll play a key role at the centre of our people operations, combining your HR knowledge, coaching style, and commercial awareness to support managers and colleagues across the business. From guiding employee relations matters to supporting recruitment and contributing to wider people initiatives, your work will directly influence the colleague experience, management capability, and overall organisational effectiveness.

This role supports teams across our Bridge of Weir, Paisley and Glasgow sites, so a full driving licence and access to your own car are essential. While the role is primarily based on a day shift (with a 14:00 finish on Fridays), some flexibility will be required to support and spend time with our night shift teams.

In this role you will:

  • Support and coach managers to confidently handle employee relations matters, including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Provide clear, practical advice on employment law and company policies, enabling managers to make informed and compliant decisions.
  • Encourage proactive management of people challenges, particularly around attendance and performance, supporting early intervention and sustainable outcomes.
  • Draft formal correspondence and documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with Health & Safety and Occupational Health to support complex absence cases and employee wellbeing.
  • Partner with managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle, from developing role profiles through to interviews and selection.
  • Contribute to people initiatives and projects, supporting engagement, performance, and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Provide guidance on pay, promotions, and reward‑related decisions in line with company principles.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in everyday practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the colleague experience and take ownership of implementation where appropriate.

You’re someone who understands that effective HR isn’t just about policies and processes – it’s about enabling managers, supporting people, and creating an environment where individuals feel valued and able to perform at their best.

Qualifications:

  • You will have experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast‑paced or operational environment.
  • You possess strong knowledge of employee relations, employment legislation, and HR best practice.
  • You are confident coaching and influencing managers, providing pragmatic and balanced advice.
  • You bring strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when managing sensitive cases and documentation.
  • You are highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery.
  • You are comfortable using HR systems and data, with good IT capability including Excel.
  • You are CIPD qualified or working towards qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • You are proactive, willing to challenge, and focused on continuous improvement.

The impact you will have:

You will play a key role in strengthening management capability and supporting a fair, consistent, and positive approach to people management across the business. By providing timely, practical advice and coaching, you will help reduce risk, improve employee engagement, and enable managers to lead with confidence. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will help embed a culture where performance, wellbeing, and continuous improvement are part of everyday working practices.

What’s in it for you:

You’ll benefit from a comprehensive rewards package designed to support your wellbeing, financial security, and career development. This includes company sick pay, enhanced annual leave that increases with service, and access to a health and wellbeing programme alongside an Employee Assistance Programme with private GP services. You’ll also have opportunities for development through coaching and training, plus practical benefits such as cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes, free on‑site parking, and access to a range of retail discounts.

We believe our strength comes from our people. We value diversity, encourage development, and create an environment where everyone can thrive.

Ready to be part of the journey? If you’re passionate about supporting people, enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, and want to make a real impact by helping managers and teams succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
