Customer & Production Coordinator in Paisley

In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, effective coordination is about much more than keeping orders moving - it’s about translating customer demand into clear production requirements, ensuring materials are available when needed, and making sure orders are planned, produced, dispatched, and invoiced in line with customer expectations. As a Production Coordinator, you'll play a key role in connecting customers, production, supply chain, and operations to ensure demand is effectively planned, communicated, and delivered.

Working closely with the Cutting Manager, Supervisors, Supply Chain, Operations, and customers, you'll coordinate production schedules, manage stock requirements, and support the timely delivery of cut parts and kits. This is a varied, fast-paced role where your organisation, attention to detail, commercial awareness, and communication skills will help keep production flowing, identify and resolve potential issues, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

In this role you will:

• Translate customer schedules and demand requirements into clear production plans, working closely with the Cutting Manager and Supervisors to communicate priorities and ensure customer requirements are delivered effectively.
• Plan and coordinate hide orders, works orders, and material requirements through the relevant production systems, ensuring supply is aligned with demand and agreed Kanban stock levels are maintained.
• Manage and control buffer and mainstream stock profiles across all customers, proactively identifying shortages, excesses, or supply risks that could impact production or customer delivery.
• Manage daily replacement demand and coordinate the end-to-end administration of goods dispatched, ensuring orders are accurately raised, prioritised, shipped, and invoiced within agreed customer requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for customer delivery information and communication, providing accurate updates, managing expectations, and ensuring potential delays or issues are communicated proactively.
• Maintain accurate and controlled system data, including pricing, account codes, part descriptions, and other key information, ensuring changes are correctly implemented, communicated, and maintained.
• Support NPI activities and the successful introduction of new programmes, building effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer and production requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
• Maintain and report key operational and customer KPIs, using accurate data to identify risks, monitor performance, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across the cutting operation.

You have demonstrable experience in a similar customer administration, production planning, order management, or coordination role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You have a good understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, customer requirements, stock management, and operational KPIs. You are highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. You are confident working in a fast-paced environment where customer requirements and production priorities can change regularly, responding positively and effectively to changing demands.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders across the business. You are commercially and operationally aware, with the ability to understand customer requirements, identify potential risks, and communicate issues before they impact production or delivery. You are confident working with business systems and have strong IT skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes that improve efficiency, accuracy, and information flow. You are comfortable working with data, maintaining accurate system information, and producing KPI reports to support effective decision-making and continuous improvement. You demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach, taking ownership of issues and working with others to find practical solutions that support both customer satisfaction and operational performance.
