Step into a role where craft meets consistency - where raw materials are transformed through skill, precision, and teamwork into high-quality leather products. This is more than a production role; it’s about being part of a process that blends tradition with performance, where every stage matters and every action contributes to the final result.
Right now, we’re building something stronger. A culture where safety isn’t just a rule - it’s how we work, every day. Where quality isn’t inspected in at the end but built into every step of the process. Where teams don’t just follow instructions, they take ownership, solve problems, and continuously improve how things are done. And where flexibility, learning, and teamwork are key to keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.
In this role you will:
- Play an active part across tannery operations, supporting the safe and efficient transformation of raw hides into leather products.
- Drive a forklift truck on a regular basis and holding and maintaining a valid forklift truck licence is essential.
- Carry out a variety of hands‑on production tasks - with a primary focus in the hide store back shift operation. The working hours will be 16:00 - 00:00 Monday - Friday.
- Take responsibility for maintaining quality and consistency, ensuring customer specifications are met at every stage.
- Work across different operational areas as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and uphold a strong “safety-first” mindset at all times.
- Identify and elevate any issues relating to safety, quality, or production performance.
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe working environments that reflect high operational standards.
- Contribute to team capability by supporting training, mentoring, and cross‑skilling opportunities.
- Play a part in meeting production targets while ensuring quality is never compromised.
You’re someone who understands that quality, safety, and efficiency go hand in hand - where doing the job right is just as important as getting it done. You bring a positive, proactive attitude and a strong willingness to learn, whether you’re new to manufacturing or building on existing experience. You demonstrate a safety-first mindset, always working in line with procedures and looking out for yourself and others. You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work, with strong attention to detail. You’re a team player who communicates well, supports others, and values collaboration. You show flexibility and adaptability, willing to move across different tasks and areas as needed. You’re organised and reliable, able to manage your workload and contribute to meeting production targets. You approach problems with a solution-focused mindset, taking initiative and seeking to understand root causes. You’re open to feedback and committed to continuous self-development and improvement.
The impact you will have:
You will play an essential role in keeping tannery operations running safely, efficiently, and consistently - ensuring that raw materials are transformed into high-quality leather products that meet customer expectations. By maintaining strong standards, supporting your team, and embracing flexibility across operations, you will help create a more reliable, responsive, and high‑performing environment. Your contribution will support on‑time delivery, reduce waste, and strengthen the overall quality and consistency of production.
What’s in it for you:
You’ll benefit from a comprehensive rewards package designed to support your wellbeing, financial security, and career development. This includes a company pension, life assurance, company sick pay, enhanced annual leave that increases with service, and access to a health and wellbeing programme alongside an Employee Assistance Programme with private GP services. You’ll also have opportunities to grow through coaching, training, and development support, plus practical perks such as cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes, free on‑site parking, and access to a range of retail discounts.
We believe our strength comes from our people. We value diversity, encourage development, and create an environment where everyone can thrive. Ready to be part of the process?
