Overview
Join Scottish Huntington’s Association’s nationwide network of Huntington’s Disease Specialists to provide care management, specialist assessment and emotional support to individuals and families across Scotland. This role supports the implementation of Standing Tall: A Strategy For Growth 2023‑28 to transform care, expand services, raise awareness and deepen research and clinical trials engagement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care management, specialist assessment and emotional support for people living with Huntington’s disease and their families.
- Collaborate with local health and social care teams to coordinate services and share expertise.
- Provide advice, training and education to health professionals, voluntary agencies and community providers involved in Huntington’s disease care.
- Maintain accurate records and manage a caseload efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional background in nursing, allied health, social work or medicine.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (required).
- Prior experience with Huntington’s disease is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time‑keeping and caseload management abilities.
- Knowledge of community‑based practice.
- Valid driving licence and access to a car for travel within Scotland.
- Eligible for an enhanced disclosure check.
General
- All applicants must demonstrate the right to work in the UK.
- The position includes a four‑month probationary period.
- Out‑of‑pocket expenses, including travel and mileage allowances, will be reimbursed on receipt of appropriate claim forms and receipts.
