This role sits within the Business Transformation Team, supporting the delivery of specialist practitioner pension calculation services.
As a Pension Officer, you will provide dedicated practitioner pensions subject matter expertise and support the assurance of complex practitioner pension calculations. This includes Remedy and non-Remedy cases, reviewing and validating calculation outputs, investigating issues, and supporting bulk calculation activities. Working in partnership with the Specialist Calculation Lead and operational colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring calculations are delivered accurately, consistently, and in line with business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide practitioner pensions subject matter expertise to support Remedy and non-Remedy practitioner pension calculations
- Check calculation outputs for accuracy, consistency and completeness, identifying potential errors, anomalies or areas requiring further review
- Support the testing and assurance of practitioner calculation solutions, including scenarios involving historical protections, transitional arrangements, Annual Allowance and Remedy impacts
- Provide clear feedback on calculation results and work with colleagues to resolve issues or improve calculation processes
- Support bulk practitioner calculation events, including activity linked to ABS, Annual Allowance and other large-scale calculation exercises
- Work closely with the specialist calculation lead, providing operational pensions expertise to support the ongoing development, refinement and assurance of practitioner calculation tools.
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure calculation outputs are understood, fit for operational use and aligned with practitioner pension administration requirements
- Contribute to process documentation, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement to strengthen resilience and reduce reliance on single points of specialist knowledge.
