Do you thrive at the centre of government, balancing strategic coordination, accountability, and high-profile stakeholder engagement? As a key member of the team supporting the Public Service Reform (PSR) Strategy, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality strategic coordination, briefing, and stakeholder engagement for a key government priority.

The postholder will lead on the preparation of ministerial and senior official briefings, manage core PSR products, and ensure timely and accurate responses to correspondence, FOIs, and commissions. The role requires strong leadership in stakeholder engagement, both internally across government and externally with ministers and public service partners.

The role will be responsible for developing and leading the stakeholder engagement plan ensuring a strategic and focused approach is applied to socialising the PSR Strategy. The postholder will play a central role in supporting governance and accountability processes, including managing reporting to the Finance and Public Administration Committee and maintaining oversight of impact assessment updates.

The postholder will also support the development and implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the PSR Strategy, ensuring it reflects the strategic intent and meets the needs of stakeholders, coordinating engagement and input as required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder engagement plan for PSR, including ministerial support at meetings.
  • Prepare high-quality briefings for Ministers and senior officials, manage and update core products (slides, briefing etc) and manage responses to correspondence, FOIs, and commissions.
  • Oversee annual review and assurance of PSR impact assessments.
  • Coordinate and support 6-monthly reporting to the Finance and Public Administration Committee.
  • Support development of the PSR Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.
  • Support the wider evidence requirements underpinning the strategy.
  • Support the wider work of the Unit, as appropriate to the grade.
