Corporate Operations Directorate, part of the DG Corporate family, leads efforts to enable Scottish Government to operate more effectively and efficiently, supporting both internal teams and shared service customers. Our critical technologies and services underpin operations across government, with a focus on digital transformation, automation and shared services. We bring structure and governance to the setting of priorities, and are responsible for delivering projects and programmes from a varied portfolio of transformational change.
Corporate Data is a single, integrated team that acts as the centre of excellence for DG Corporate Reporting. It promotes reporting best practice and is responsible for designing, building and maintaining reports and dashboards that span multiple data sets. The team also sets data quality and data integrity standards, monitors adherence to agreed requirements, and recommends corrective actions where standards are not being met.
Responsibilities
A lead data engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of numerous complex data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems. You will:
- recognise and share opportunities to reuse existing data flows between teams
- be responsible for the build of data-streaming systems
- co-ordinate teams and set best practice and standards
- apply knowledge of systems integration to your work
- champion data engineering across government
Qualifications
This role is a permanent level transfer position.
