Operationally focused on organising and supporting internal processes, while maintaining a strong customer focus to deliver a high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders. The role contributes to the effective and consistent delivery of statutory debt services across Scotland, engaging with customers through telephone and digital channels.

This role sits within the Delivery Branch of the Agency of the Accountant in Bankruptcy.

The primary focus of the Case Manager role is to support the delivery of statutory debt solutions across Scotland. This includes making well-informed decisions across a range of scenarios in line with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, as well as holding management responsibility for administrative staff and supporting their performance and development.

  • Managing and progressing bankruptcy cases from application through to closure, ensuring robust case assessment, due diligence, compliance with Scottish insolvency legislation, and alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Adjudicate a diverse portfolio of bankruptcy, Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS), and Trust Deed applications, assessing eligibility, reviewing supporting evidence, and making informed decisions in accordance with legislation, policy, and operational guidance.
  • Monitor and supervise the performance of private trustees acting in Protected Trust Deeds and bankruptcy cases, undertaking monitoring and compliance activities, reviewing case administration, and taking appropriate action to ensure statutory obligations, regulatory standards, and expected levels of service are maintained.
  • Exercising sound judgement and decision-making to assess complex case information, apply legislative requirements, and deliver high-quality casework outcomes that support operational and statutory objectives.
  • Delivering against performance targets while maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency and customer service for debtors, creditors, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership of case enquiries and issues, managing them effectively from receipt through to resolution in line with service standards, policies and statutory timescales.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to support the effective administration of all debt products and the delivery of a trusted, professional service.
  • Provide line management, coaching and support to A Band colleagues, overseeing performance, workload allocation, attendance and development to ensure the delivery of high-quality casework and achievement of operational targets.
