RPID teams manage the implementation of agricultural, environmental and rural policies, process applications for funding and provide high quality customer service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Agricultural Officer to join the Rural Payments and Inspections Division (RPID) in the Inverness area office.
Agricultural teams undertake a wide variety of duties, many of an outdoor nature, including visits to farms and crofts to carry out inspections. The team also undertake desk-based processing of claims and applications, and engage directly with customers as the primary point of contact for crofters and the rural community in the area.
The Higher Agricultural Officer position performs a key management role within the RPID Inverness Area Office, managing, developing and supporting a team of up to 5 Agricultural Officers. You will receive support from a Senior Agricultural Officer and be part of a team focused on delivering a range of RPID administered schemes. The post holder will be responsible for leading, supporting and providing guidance to staff and customers on a wide range of casework to ensure that payment and inspection targets are met as set out in the Annual Business Cycle.
Due to the nature of this role, a considerable amount of driving is involved therefore a valid driving licence that enables the candidate to drive in the UK is mandatory.
