Do you want to play a key role in coordinating and managing inspection travel, leading a team that ensures logistics run smoothly and supports the delivery of high-quality inspections across Scotland? The Team Leader (Travel) plays a key role in supporting the effective coordination and logistical planning of inspection activity across His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE). This role ensures that inspection travel is effectively managed, aligned with strategic priorities, and supported by robust operational systems. You will lead a team responsible for inspection logistics and travel, closely liaising with operational teams enabling HMIE to deliver high-quality inspections across Scotland. You will be managed by the Business and Project Management Lead.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of Inspection Travel.
- Coordination and scheduling of logistical planning of inspections, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and resource availability and sound administrative support.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support a team of administrative officers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of delivery.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day business operations related to inspections, including travel arrangements, accommodation bookings, and document preparation.
- Process Improvement: Review and refine administrative processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and user experience for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate recording and reporting of inspection data, including tracking progress, outcomes, and feedback.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding inspection logistics and administration.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all inspection-related activities comply with HMIE protocols, Scottish Government policies, and data protection regulations.
- Support Systems: Work closely with digital and IT teams to maintain and improve systems used for inspection planning and reporting.
