Are you interested in a role that offers the opportunity to support a new Fraud and Error function in 2026 within the new Fraud and Error Data Systems Team? An opportunity has arisen to join the Fraud and Error Data Team for a B2 Data Research and Development Manager on a temporary promotion or temporary level transfer basis. The Fraud & Error Data Research and Development Manager plays a key role in driving forward proactive identification of fraud and error through advanced data analysis. You will oversee ongoing analytical activity, ensuring intelligence-led approaches are embedded effectively, while also leading the development and delivery of projects to enhance capability.
You will also directly support the objectives outlined within the Fraud & Error Investment Case and ensure alignment between strategic ambition and operational delivery. This includes a programme of work focused on improving the proactive detection of fraud and error indicators through data exploitation. You will provide strategic direction, ensure effective prioritisation, and oversee implementation of these initiatives within a live operational environment.
Responsibilities- Utilising data analysis skills and techniques to proactively identify fraud & error, including assisting management colleagues in growing and refining the unit’s Counter Fraud data analysis capability, processes and policies.
- Monitoring and managing intelligence/information relating to fraud from internal and external sources.
- Tracing additional information to corroborate intelligence and grading appropriately.
- Compiling intelligence reports and packages in the recognised national intelligence model format, then relaying the results in writing and in person to Counter Fraud colleagues.
- Using corroborative tools to develop enhanced intelligence products and packages.
- Line management responsibility for Intelligence Officers as the team develops, advising them on appropriate data analysis processes to use, and quality assuring the intelligence gathered before recommending action.
- Working with Counter Fraud colleagues internally and externally to support the continuous improvement of fraud reporting channels.
- Proactive engagement with colleagues in other Agency departments to develop intelligence analysis exercises.

Hybrid WorkingOur standard hours are 35 hours per week, and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location, which is High Street, Glasgow.
