Overview
Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? Do you enjoy building strong relationships and being the go-to person for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders? We’re offering a key role that supports the day-to-day operations of our workplace, helping to create a positive and productive environment for colleagues and clients across the organisation. If you're a confident communicator, a team player, and someone who is highly organised and proactive, we’d love to hear from you.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Social Security Scotland’s Place Services branch as a Workplace Officer. Place Services manages the central estate of Social Security Scotland, oversees travel management arrangements, and coordinates the management of national spaces. The branch is structured into four main reporting lines: Operations, Strategy, Property, and Protective Security. This is a hands-on, varied role that plays a vital part in ensuring our workplace runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
As a Workplace Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive and proactive team delivering day-to-day workplace services across our central estate. This includes responsibilities such as Front of House, distribution, travel and accommodation support.
You’ll be expected to use your initiative and sound judgement to provide high-quality, practical support, both independently and as part of a team. The role involves regular interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, visitors, suppliers, and service providers. You’ll also contribute to maintaining a safe and secure working environment, including supporting emergency protocols and fire safety procedures. There is a degree of manual handling in the role, for which training will be provided.
Opportunities for professional development, including Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) learning, may be offered to support your career growth.
This is a on-site role, based in the office four days per week, with the expectation to participate in an on-call rota to provide workplace support outside of core hours when required. Operating on a rota structure, the expectation is that there would be at least one 7am start in the week and at least one 4:30pm finish.
