We are looking for a temporary Disability Interventions Team Manager to join our team in Dundee, to work within the Error Control and Debt Management Branch of the Fraud and Error Resolution Unit (FERU). This is a key role which offers the opportunity to contribute to the safeguarding of vital resources for the people of Scotland who need them.

In this role you will oversee the Error Control activity undertaken by a team of B1 Interventions Officers. You will support the evolution of our Disability Error Control Service, engaging closely with project management colleagues and helping to continuously improve the design of the service and testing processes and systems to support further development.

Responsibilities
  • Line management responsibilities, including managing performance, developing and supporting staff to reach their full potential.
  • Provide guidance, including where necessary liaising with Policy and Legal colleagues, to support resolution of unusual or complex cases.
  • Accountability for ensuring that your team is compliant with legal and policy requirements.
  • Regular review and analysis of error correction work outcomes to help mitigate against future errors.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance checks on Error Correction activity to ensure decisions are fair, consistent and comply with the law and with policy intent.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in operational teams, Debt Team and Fraud Prevention Team to contribute to establishing effective error prevention measures within Social Security Scotland.
  • Provide technical insight to working groups and stakeholders, collaborating with model office to understand error risk and identify mitigation.
  • Collation of monthly and quarterly Management Information data and completion of reports – shared responsibility with other Team Managers.

Hybrid Working

Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location, which will be Enterprise House in Dundee.
