The Environment and Forestry Directorate (EnFor) is a busy and high-profile directorate working to protect and enhance Scotland’s natural environment and resources. We lead on a wide range of policy areas, helping shape Scotland’s approach to nature, forestry, land use, biodiversity, and environmental protection.
The Director’s Office plays a central role in supporting the Director of Environment and Forestry, the senior Leadership Team, and the smooth operation of directorate-wide business processes. We are a small, collaborative and fast-paced team where everyone has autonomy and responsibility for delivering high-quality work that underpins the Directorate’s effectiveness and helps make EnFor a great place to work.
You will manage core business support functions, oversee staff, and ensure the Directorate meets its governance, planning and communication responsibilities. This role requires excellent judgement, strong organisational skills, and an ability to confidently manage competing demands.
